Tender Specialist

About TenderStria

TenderStria is building the AI that reads public-sector tenders so teams don't have to. Every working day, governments across 50+ countries publish thousands of contract notices, far more than any bid team can read. We ingest them all, translate and normalise them, and score each one for fit against a company's services, sectors and bid criteria, so teams open only the contracts genuinely worth pursuing. We're an early, deliberately small team building toward our first customers, with a product that already works.

About the role

You are the procurement brain of the product. From years on the other side of the table, you know how a contracting authority actually evaluates a bid, what makes a notice worth pursuing, where the hidden blockers sit, and why teams waste weeks on bids they were never going to win. Your job is to encode that judgement into how TenderStria reads, qualifies and scores every tender.

This is a senior, cross-functional role. You'll sit between our domain reality and our AI, working with engineers and the founder to make the product's scoring match the instincts of an expert bid manager, and to keep it honest as we expand into new sectors and countries.

What you’ll do

  • ·Own the qualification and scoring rubric: define what makes a tender a genuine fit, a maybe, or a no, and why
  • ·Review AI output against real notices and award data, and pinpoint exactly where it's wrong and why
  • ·Translate evaluation criteria, compliance gates and procurement quirks into rules the model can apply
  • ·Build the library of sector and buyer patterns that sharpens scoring over time
  • ·Partner with engineering to turn your judgement into testable, measurable behaviour
  • ·Be the voice of the bid manager in every product decision

What we look for

  • ·10+ years in bid or tender management, public procurement, or a closely related discipline
  • ·A deep, instinctive feel for how public buyers evaluate and award contracts
  • ·Fluency with evaluation criteria, compliance requirements, frameworks and scoring methodologies
  • ·A clear, decisive writer who can turn tacit judgement into explicit rules
  • ·Comfortable working closely with engineers and being challenged on your reasoning

Bonus points

  • ·Experience across multiple sectors (construction, IT, healthcare, facilities) or countries
  • ·Hands-on with TED, Find a Tender, Contracts Finder or other major portals
  • ·A track record of measurably improving win rates or bid/no-bid decisions

Why this role?

Most procurement expertise lives in people's heads and walks out the door at 6pm. Here, your judgement becomes a product used by entire teams. You'll see your thinking encoded, tested, and improved every week, and you'll shape how an industry decides what to bid on.

Why TenderStria?

Public procurement is a vast market that still runs on tools barely better than email alerts. We think the team that makes it genuinely searchable and scoreable will define the category. You'd join early enough to shape the product, the culture, and the playbook, with the ownership that only an early team offers and the focus of a company that has chosen its problem deliberately.
